Is This Thing On!? Greetings from TBC Blog + Some EOY Reflecting
Well hello there and happy December!
I'm glad you've found your way to The Business Connection's official blog! This will probably be the most "informal" area of my site.
Within the ecosystem that is The Business Connection, I wanted to create a space where I was able to focus on various topics. I'm a person who is big on intention, and my intention with these posts will be to share a bit of perspective while also providing value in some capacity to the respective topic that is top of mind (or within the subject line of these posts).
Now that we've gotten the formalities out of the way, let's dive into our first official topic 🤗 — planning for the new year! But not without first taking a moment to reflect.
2025 was…whew, well it was something. This year has impacted everyone in some capacity. Specifically, within the workforce and professional setting millions have experienced the shift or loss of their jobs. This means that lives were changed overnight. While some people have been able to begin gaining their footing back underneath themselves, others are still resiliently applying, networking, and very transparently, praying for the opportunity to get back to some form of normalcy and stability.
While you may not have been someone who experienced job loss, I'm sure this year and the volatile job market did cause you to reflect in some capacity. 2025 has been the year that debunked the myth that big tech, federal, or any industry for that matter is "safe". It caused discomfort, confusion, uncertainty, but also sparked in many the "nudge" to think about their future, especially as it related to stability, source/s of income, and career progression.
But it's something about the year end and new year preparation that tends to give people an invaluable gift — the feeling of hope. As you're wrapping up 2025 and preparing to do the annual ritual of "new year, new me", I wanted to encourage you to take a moment to reflect on this year and think ahead about what the upcoming year has in store for you.
Like I said, we're intentional around here, and I want to make sure that you create a space for yourself to reflect on these questions comfortably with your undivided attention. So grab your journal or notebook (physical or virtual) and beverage of choice. Take a deep breath to center your focus, and prepare yourself to intentionally reflect on the below questions.
Reflection Prompts
2025 - Looking Back:
What were my 3 biggest wins in 2025?
The 3 biggest challenges I experienced this year were..?
How did I celebrate myself this year?
If I had to summarize this year using only one word, it would be..?
If someone asked me to summarize my career/professional experience this year, I'd say..?
Who is someone who positively impacted my life this year? What did they do?
2026 - Moving Forward:
As I prepare for 2026, what are 2-3 things that I'm challenging myself to implement into my life?
What are 2-3 things that I'm healthily releasing and no longer carrying with me into the new year?
Professionally, what is the "big" thing that I've thought about doing but talked myself out of?
Professionally, what milestones do I plan to achieve this year?
How do I plan to prioritize myself this year (personally and professionally)?
If I did not celebrate myself (at all or enough) in 2025, how will I do so this year?
I hope that the above questions help you to take a moment to intentionally (there's that word again) hold space for yourself and allow you to reflect, honestly. In addition to intentional reflection, my hope is that these questions help to fuel or re-kindle a spark within yourself. A knowing that you're worthy, unstoppable, resilient, and whatever you put your mind to and support with aligned action, you can and will achieve.
Please feel free to leverage these questions as often as you'd like or need, throughout all aspects of your life. Let them serve as a template and modify how you see fit!
And there you have it! That's a wrap on our first official blog post! I'm grateful that you took the time read through this post and virtually share space with me! I hope that as this space grows, so will the value you receive from these posts.
Wishing you a gentle, rest-filled holiday season along with an optimistic and success-filled new year!
With Love + Gratitude,
Dani B.✨
